Lauren Quintero
Deputy Director for Administrative Services Division
Lauren Quintero began her civil service career as an Office Technician with the then-named Division of Addiction and Recovery Services at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Lauren promoted in place to Staff Services Analyst and later transitioned to the Victim Compensation Program, serving in the policy section. Lauren then moved to what would come to be named the Behavioral Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission, where Lauren served for more than 15 years.
Over the course of this tenure, Lauren advanced from Associate Governmental Program Analyst to Acting Deputy Director of Administration and Performance Management. In this capacity, Lauren played a pivotal role in building the Commission’s administrative and operational infrastructure.
Lauren led multiple agencywide initiatives, including establishing the Commission’s internal human resources unit and expanding its fiscal and budget operations. Lauren oversaw a full spectrum of administrative functions such as budget development, fiscal planning, personnel management, labor relations, contracts, facilities, and information technology. Lauren’s leadership supported award-winning efforts to improve disability hiring and reinforced alignment between administrative practices and the Commission’s mission to advance equity and accountability in behavioral health services.
