The Wildfire Safety Advisory Board (WSAB) today published draft recommendations to the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) on additional Wildfire Mitigation Plan Requirements/Performance Metrics and Safety Culture Assessment.
The WSAB provides these recommendations to Energy Safety as it updates its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) Guidelines. These recommendations are applicable to the Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), Independent Transmission Owners (ITOs) and Small and Multi-Jurisdictional Utilities (SMJUs) (collectively “utilities”).
For anyone who is interested in providing comments, please do so by June 7, 2023 to the docket 2024-WSAB-WMP-GPSCA or via e-mail to WSAB@energysafety.ca.gov. Stakeholders can also provide comments during the Board’s June 13 meeting.
