Underground Safety Board Re-elects Del Toro and Munoz to Leadership Roles

Long Beach, Calif. – Underground Safety Board Chair Marjorie Del Toro and Vice Chair Amparo Munoz were unanimously re-elected during the Board’s meeting on Mon. May 9.

Board members hold leadership positions for one calendar year with members eligible to retain the chair position for a two-year maximum. Each are in their second year.

Member Del Toro has served as the board’s chair since 2021 and was originally appointed to the Board by Gov. Edmund G. Brown, Jr. on December 18, 2017. She was reappointed by Gov. Brown on Jan. 2, 2019 to a four-year term.

Member Munoz has served as vice chair since 2021 and was originally appointed to the Board by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon on April 11, 2018.
