Sacramento – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its Draft Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) Guidelines for public comment. Release of the draft guidelines initiates a 30-day public comment period.
Energy Safety promulgates guidelines that the electrical corporations (ECs) must follow in the development of their WMPs. The guidelines establish how ECs should account for areas of continued improvement, risk models, initiative targets, and projected expenditures in their WMPs.
Energy Safety will hold a draft guidelines public workshop on Sept. 24, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
