Sacramento – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its audit and report of Pacific Gas and Electric’s (PG&E) vegetation management work in 2023. Energy Safety’s audit and found that PG&E substantially complied with a substantial portion of the vegetation management requirements in its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) for compliance year 2023.
Energy Safety’s audit found that PG&E provided enough information to verify the completion of work in seven of 13 vegetation management initiatives in its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) for its vegetation management work in 2023.
Of the six initiatives for which Energy Safety identified deficiencies (vegetation management inspections, wood management, fall-in mitigation, emergency response vegetation management, open work orders, and workforce planning), PG&E submitted a corrective action plan and was able to provide additional information demonstrating substantial compliance for four (vegetation management inspections, emergency response vegetation management, open work orders, and workforce planning) of the deficient initiatives. For the remaining two initiatives, (wood management and fall-in mitigation), PG&E demonstrated that it completed a majority of the work, or completed additional work, which achieved the same program objectives.
No further action is required.
