Decision Moves to CPUC for Ratification
SACRAMENTO – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its evaluation and approval of PacifiCorp’s 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP). Energy Safety’s PacifiCorp 2023-2025 WMP decision moves to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for ratification.
Energy Safety’s approval found that PacifiCorp’s WMP was strong in the area of proactive replacement of all non-exempt equipment in the high fire threat district with CAL FIRE-exempt alternatives. The decision also identified areas for continued improvement for PacifiCorp’s future WMP updates.
California’s electrical corporations are required to submit three-year WMPs, updated annually, to Energy Safety for review and approval. PacifiCorp submitted its 2023-2025 WMP in May. In September, Energy Safety released its draft decision of PacifiCorp’s WMP for public review and comment. Following the incorporation of public comment, Energy Safety released its approval of the plan. Energy Safety WMP decisions move to the CPUC for ratification.
Energy Safety has approved all nine electrical corporations’ 2023-2025 WMPs.
