Publication Initiates Public Review and Comment Period

Sacramento – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its draft decision on Liberty Utilities’ (Liberty) 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP). Publication of the draft initiates a 30-day public review and comment period.

Opening comments must be received no later than Dec. 4. Reply comments must be received no later than Dec. 14. All comments must be submitted to Energy Safety’s e-filing system and the 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plans docket (2023-2025-WMPs).

In June, Energy Safety held a public workshop on the 2023-2025 WMP submissions from small and multi-jurisdictional utilities, including Liberty. The electrical corporations made presentations and stakeholders were able to ask questions.

In September, Energy Safety issued a revision notice for Liberty’s 2023-2025 WMP. In issuing the revision notice, Energy Safety required Liberty to address several critical issues in its original WMP.

In October, Liberty revised its plan in response to the revision notice. Public comments on Liberty’s revised WMP were solicited until mid-November.

Energy Safety’s final decision on Liberty’s 2023-2025 WMP will be released in late January.
