SACRAMENTO – Energy Safety to hold a virtual public scoping meeting on Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. to share ideas and discuss best practices for utility vegetation management (UVM) for wildfire safety. In response to increased wildfire risk, California’s electrical corporations have implemented differing approaches to prevent vegetation-caused outages and ignitions in high fire risk areas (HFRA). Current industry standards and regulations do not provide adequate guidance for electrical corporations to manage risk from vegetation. Stakeholders, relevant state agencies, and California’s electrical corporations will participate.
