Energy Safety Issues Annual Reports on Compliance for LS Power’s and Trans Bay Cable’s 2023 Wildfire Mitigation Plans

SACRAMENTO – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today issued its Annual Reports on Compliance (ARC) for LS Power’s and Trans Bay Cable’s (TBC) 2023 Wildfire Mitigation Plans (WMP).

Energy Safety evaluated the 2023 WMP initiatives of LS Power’s and TBC’s approved 2023-2025 Base WMPs and found both LS Power and TBC completed two of two, or 100 percent of their 2023 initiative targets.

In 2023, LS Power undertook efforts to reduce its wildfire risk on the Orchard Substation construction site, as well as in preparation for construction at the Fern Road Substation site. Both LS Power and TBC undertook efforts to reduce their wildfire risk and were successful in executing their plans for wildfire risk mitigation.

Energy Safety will continue to monitor LS Power’s and TBC’s implementation of their ongoing wildfire mitigation activities and push the companies to improve their ability to ultimately eliminate utility-caused catastrophic wildfires in California.
