Energy Safety Releases Draft 2024 Safety Culture Assessment Guidelines, Solicits Public Comment

SACRAMENTO – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its Draft 2024 Safety Culture Assessment (SCA) Guidelines. Release of the guidelines begins a 30-day public comment period.

 

Public comment will be accepted no later than Nov. 20. Replies to public comment may be submitted no later than Nov. 30. All comments may be submitted to Energy Safety’s e-filing system in the Safety Culture Assessment Guidelines docket (#2024-SCAs).

 

Energy Safety conducts safety culture assessments of California’s electrical corporations to evaluate their growth toward building strong, sustainable safety cultures. By agreeing to implement its most recent SCA findings, an electrical corporation is considered in “good standing,” one of the eligibility requirements for a safety certification.
