Sacramento – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its audit and report of the Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) vegetation management work in 2023. Energy Safety’s audit and found that BVES substantially complied with a substantial portion of the vegetation management requirements in its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) for compliance year 2023.
Energy Safety’s audit found that BVES provided enough information to verify the completion of work in 10 of 13 vegetation management initiatives in its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) for its vegetation management work in 2023.
Of the three initiatives for which Energy Safety identified deficiencies (pole clearing, open work orders, and workforce planning), BVES submitted a corrective action plan and was able to provide additional information demonstrating substantial compliance for one (workforce planning) of the deficient initiatives. For the remaining two initiatives, (pole clearing and open work orders), BVES demonstrated that it completed a majority of the work, or completed additional work, which achieved the same program objectives.
No further action is required.
