Sacramento – The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) today released its audit and report of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) vegetation management work in 2023. Energy Safety’s audit and found that SCE substantially complied with a substantial portion of the vegetation management requirements in its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) for compliance year 2023.
Energy Safety’s audit found that SCE provided enough information to verify the completion of work in 10 of 13 vegetation management initiatives in its 2023-2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) for its vegetation management work in 2023.
Of the three initiatives for which Energy Safety identified deficiencies (wood and slash management, clearance, and open work orders), SCE submitted a corrective action plan and was able to provide additional information demonstrating substantial compliance for one (clearance) of the deficient initiatives. For the remaining two initiatives, (wood and slash management and open work orders), SCE demonstrated it completed a majority of the work, or completed additional work, which achieved the same program objectives.
No further action is required.
