Public Hearing on SCE Notices of Violation and a Notice of Defect
Following a request from Southern California Edison (SCE), the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) will conduct a written public hearing in response to Notices of Violation (NOV) and a Notice of Defect (NOD) issued to SCE. Written public comment will be accepted from Feb. 6, 2023 to Feb. 27, 2023. SCE has until March 10 to respond. Written comments may be submitted to hearings@energysafety.ca.gov or comments may be mailed to 715 P Street, 20th Floor, Sacramento, California 95814.

An NOV identifies non-compliance with any approved WMP or any law, regulation, or guideline within Energy Safety’s authority. (Cal Code. Regs., title 14, § 29302(b)(2).) An NOD identifies a deficiency, error, or condition that increases the risk of ignition posed by electrical lines and equipment that requires correction. (Cal. Code. Regs., title 14, §29302(b)(1).)
